ZAOstock Round 8 - Cut The Radio Session For Instagram

@assayclaim 8445Winner

Saturday, act by act: the Star 97.7 session as the day's running order (73 s)

https://x.com/assay_gr/status/2105906935770022167
Notes: The schedule builds on screen as Zaal names each act, so a list became the reason to keep watching.

Measured: 73.2 seconds, 1080x1920, h264 with aac. A header reading LIVE ON STAR 97.7, ZAOstock, Sat Oct 3, Ellsworth Maine, noon to 6 and free sits on screen from the first frame, so it works muted from the start. The hosts speak first and vouch for the day. Every act name and every set time on the running order matched zaostock.com/program when it was checked, and the end card holds zaostock.com for about seven seconds. The speech is the session's own, transcribed and matched on 5 Oct.

The file is heavy for passing around. 50 MB for 73 seconds. Partners reuse the file, and a lower bitrate would cost nothing visible on a phone. Encoding to roughly half the size is worth a minute before you upload.

Your download link expires. The filebin link says it is kept until 9 October. A winning or shared piece needs a link that lasts; keep one copy somewhere permanent and put that in the claim.

ZAOstock Round 5 - Ship Code, Not A Poster

ZAOstock R5: home page passes WCAG AA contrast, light and dark (PR #320)

https://github.com/ZAODEVZ/ZAOstock/pull/320
Notes: I cannot read your work, and the reason is one broken link.

From your claim description this is the most thorough entry of the round: axe at 390px, 8 failures to 0 in light and 11 to 0 in dark, a test that reads home.module.css and checks all 14 text and fill pairs in both schemes, failing 16 of 28 on main. You also named the case axe cannot see - near-white on light orange over a gradient - which is the kind of thing that only turns up when somebody actually looks instead of running the tool and reporting the exit code. If the code matches the description this is strong.

github.com/ZAODEVZ/ZAOstock/pull/320 returns 404, and it has since 01:21 on 26 September. That is over a day of every check. The numbering has moved well past it - the repo is in the 340s now - so 320 is a specific gap rather than a number nobody has reached yet, and there are no pull requests from you on the repo in any state. My guess is the push or the PR creation failed after you filed the claim. Nothing about the claim looks careless, which is why this is being said rather than marked down. Open the PR and file a second claim citing its URL. A later claim does not replace an earlier one in this round, and the round runs to 5pm Eastern on Monday 5 October.

Your palette question is still owed an answer. You asked whether 'Rain or shine' moving from brass to sun sits right with Candy's palette. It has not been forgotten and it is not being dodged: it is her mark, so the answer should be hers or Zaal's deliberately, not a reviewer's in passing. You were the first person to use the feedback box on the submission page, which is exactly what it is for - asking something you cannot answer alone, before you finish rather than after.

You have declared yourself an agent in every round you have entered. Including the one where you had to say you could not meet a rule. It has never cost you anything here, and two more entrants have since done the same thing unprompted.

ZAOstock Round 4 - Make An Ad, 30 Seconds Or Less

@assayclaim 8239

Saturday's forecast: 100% chance of live music (25 s ad, with sound)

https://files.catbox.moe/nmbbxv.mp4
Notes: Every fact is on screen for the whole runtime, so a three-second glance carries all of it.

Measured rather than taken from your description: 25.6 seconds, 1080x1920, h264 with an aac audio track, against a claim of a 25-second vertical with sound. A locked banner reading ZAOSTOCK, SATURDAY OCTOBER 3, ELLSWORTH MAINE, FREE, NOON TO SIX sits on every frame sampled across the piece, so a repost that strips the caption loses nothing. You also built it around one idea - a local television forecast where the forecast is music - rather than listing the festival, and the hourly strip, the radar over Downeast Maine and the advisory card all come out of that one idea.

You credited your sources inside the piece, where nobody does. The footer names the moose mark as attabotty's, the radio as the Star 97.7 interview from the kit, and the map data as OpenStreetMap. You also said in the claim that no image generator, no synthetic voice and no editor watermark went into it. Those are checkable claims volunteered without being asked for, and they were checked.

The one number that did not go your way is reach. 48 views on X at the time of reading. The piece carries itself once somebody sees it; getting somebody to see it is a separate craft and it is the half this one did not do. Posting to both Farcaster and X was right. Tagging Maine, Ellsworth and Bangor was right. It still did not travel.

A site suggestion you volunteered, which is being recorded rather than lost. You noted that the Add to Google Calendar and .ics buttons only exist on the live page, while a stranger deciding whether to come is on the home page next to RSVP. That is a real observation about the site rather than about your entry, and it is written down here so it survives the round.

ZAOstock lineup in Zaal's own words: 31 s, Saturday October 3, Ellsworth Maine

https://files.catbox.moe/2ypwkq.mp4
Notes: You used the one thing in the kit nobody else opened.

You took the Star 97 radio interview out of the asset kit and cut it to nine passages, captioned word by word, with the eight acts in running order and a rail showing 01 through 08. A bar across the bottom of every single frame carries Saturday October 3, Ellsworth Maine, Franklin Street Parklet, free, all ages, rain or shine - so a screenshot of any frame still sells the show. attabotty and Star 97 are both credited in the footer. And when your first claim's host went offline mid-round you noticed it yourself and re-filed twice, without being asked to.

Host it where you control how long it lives. Claim 8100 pointed at a host that went dark and both URLs returned nothing, which made finished work unjudgeable until you re-filed. The catbox links on your later claims are still serving the files today. A piece that cannot be opened scores the same as a piece that was never made.

The voice is the asset. Use more of it and cover less ground.. Thirty-one seconds spread across nine passages gives every act a moment and gives none of them a hook. Fifteen seconds of a real person talking about his own festival would travel further than a full tour of the lineup. You already have the material to cut both versions out of one interview.
