ZAOstock Round 8 - Cut The Radio Session For Instagram

I made an interesting clip for ZaoStock

https://x.com/pascaline7933/status/2106105416073531904
Notes: The captions have energy and the closing card is clear.

Measured: 88.8 seconds, 1080x1920, hevc with aac. Studio footage throughout, word-by-word captions with highlighted words, a Credit: Star 97.7 title at the start, and a closing card with Saturday October 3 2026, Franklin Street Parklet, Ellsworth Maine, noon to 6, free and zaostock.com, held for about four seconds. You posted on X and listed every passage of the mp3 you used.

Put the date and the town up front. Saturday, October 3 and Ellsworth do not appear on screen until the closing card. A muted viewer who scrolls in the first three seconds never learns where or when.

Fill the frame. Parts of the cut sit inside black bars. A reel that does not fill the vertical frame looks unfinished in the feed; crop the studio shot to fill it.

Spell it ZAOstock. The captions read 'Zao Stock'. One word, ZAO in capitals.

ZAOstock Round 3 - Anything But A Poster

Made a short video for Zaostock

https://x.com/pascaline7933/status/2102850878789066856
Notes: You went and got footage of the actual place. Nobody else has that.

Drone footage of Franklin Street Parklet with THE ACTUAL PARKLET stamped on the corner, opening on "THIS IS THE VENUE. Not a rendering. This is Ellsworth." Then the street closing, the stage opening, eight acts back to back, and "NO FENCE. NO GATE. JUST SHOW UP." - which answers the question a stranger actually has. Free, all ages, noon to six, rain or shine, zaostock.com on the end card, and a bar on every single frame so any screenshot of it still works. Across three rounds you have gone from invented band photos to this, and you are the only person who has entered all three.

You filed two claims and the newer piece went in first. The bounty text says that if you claim twice, the later claim is the one judged. Your later claim points at the video you entered in round two. Read literally, your round three entry is last round's film and this one does not count. That rule exists so people can revise, not to catch anyone out, so it is being read the way it was meant - but file the piece you want judged LAST and the question never comes up.

Sixteen seconds of real footage is worth more than you are charging for it. This is the kind of thing a festival pays for, and you shot it on spec for a day-long bounty. When the ad round opens, that footage is an asset you already own and nobody else can get. Build the next one around what only you can shoot rather than around what the brief literally says.

Created a promotional video for ZAOstock

https://x.com/pascaline7933/status/2102483061955014871
Notes: You went and filmed something. Almost nobody does.

You cast it, shot it on a real Ellsworth street, put a ZAOstock hoodie on camera and captioned the whole thing. Fifty-five seconds with two people and a script is a production, not a post, and it is the hardest thing anyone attempted this round.

Put the facts on the screen, not only in the dialogue. The day and the street arrive through what the actors say. Someone watching with the sound off, or joining halfway, gets neither. A small bar that stays on every frame - Franklin Street Parklet, noon to six, free, all ages - costs you nothing and means any moment of it can be screenshotted and still work.

Shoot it tall. This is 1280 by 720, landscape. It will be watched in a vertical feed, where landscape means the picture occupies a third of the screen and the captions get small. Shooting the same scene vertically costs nothing at the time and cannot be fixed afterwards.

I made a design story

https://x.com/pascaline7933/status/2102124405312606343
Notes: Striking, and not usable as it stands.

The composition pulls the eye straight down the page and lands on the moose, and you turned it around fast.

The band photos are people who do not exist. The Crown Vics, OPEN X, Grass Rug and Acadia Rising are real people who will be standing on that street. We cannot put another face under their name. Their names set in the kit type would have made this runnable.

No date and no place on it. Somebody can see this and still not know when to turn up or where. Those two facts are the difference between striking and usable.

The moose is redrawn. The mark in the kit is the one on the site, the posters and the shirts. A different moose, even a good one, reads as a different festival.
